CompactPCI® Serial USB 3.0 Interface Card for Data-Intensive Applications
Thanks to the G201, the new USB 3.0 interface card, MEN's portfolio of CompactPCI® Serial boards has again gained more flexibility. The four USB 3.0 ports at the front panel can either be used to connect fast USB 3.0 devices or to extend the USB interfaces with 2.0 functionality of the CPU board.
A Perfect Match: G201 with USB 3.0 on CompactPCI® Serial
The 4 USB 3.0 host interfaces at the front of the G201 support data rates of up to 5 Gbit/s per port. Ten times faster than its predecessor USB 2.0, this interface of the future comes right on time for connecting all external storage media and devices for data-intensive applications such as high-speed cameras.
If combined with a CompactPCI® Serial or CompactPCI® PlusIO CPU, the high data transfer rates of USB 3.0 meet an equally fast high-performance platform. This way, a CompactPCI® Serial or hybrid system becomes a future-safe solution.
Using the Standard-A connector for the USB ports, which are connected via PCI Express®, the interfaces are backwards compatible to USB 2.0. When using a type A connector, a device with a USB 2.0 connector can easily be operated on a USB 3.0 port and vice versa.
The CompactPCI® Serial peripheral board G201 is not only fast but also robust enough for harsh environments. It is suited for operation in the extended temperature range and prepared for conformal coating against humidity and dust.
