India Telecom series of exhibition and conference organized by DoT (Department of Telecom, Government of India) and FICCI (Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry) in association with industry bodies such as COAI, AUSPI, TEMA, TEPC, Wimax Forum, etc since the inception in 2006 in PPP mode is held annually with the sole objective of promotion and building business linkages between the Indian Telecom Industry and the participating International Telecom fraternity.
Today while the program is the most focused telecom program in the Indian subcontinent the journey made so far since 2006 has just lead to the beginning. The program has been enriched with content year after year with larger and successful participation. This platform created by DoT and FICCI has been an enabler for technology transfer, exchange of innovative ideas, joint ventures and showcase of what is happening around the globe.
Indian Telecom sector which has seen voluminous growth over years has been well depicted and showcased at every edition of this International exhibition and conference. The growth in the sector has well revolutionized the industry for the good to common man. The number of mobile subscribers grew at an astounding rate from 10 million in 2002 to over 900 million in 2011, a number of factors have been responsible for this amazing growth since liberalization, including low tariffs, low handset prices and most notably, a highly competitive market created by and large by the Government and Industry.
Forums such as India Telecom have in a way contributed to the exponential growth of the telecom sector. The platform has also been a business mobiliser for the MSME sector which has been rightly showcased at this event giving them opportunity to explore markets within country and international segment. In process the event has rightfully contributed to the growing FDI equity to the country for ongoing economic growth.
To promote the opportunities in India Telecom sector for boosting economic growth and attracting further FDI, this year too, Department of Telecommunications (DoT), Government of India in association with Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) have planned to organize, "India Telecom 2013" 05-07 December 2012 at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi, India.
The event will address the latest technologies, bringing together professionals from leading organizations looking for solutions for their current business activities and mulling over the next wave of innovative ideas, especially Green Telecom, WiMAX technology, 3G & BWA proliferation in India, broadband expansion, number portability, Mobile Financial Services in India, Value Added Services, Telecom Infrastructure, etc.

To facilitate increase in connectivity by the provision of telephone connections to all in the shortest possible time at an affordable cost
